Santa Muerte Tattoo symbolism:

  • History & Symbolism: Santa Muerte (or the Lady of Death) is some sort of female saint. Altough she is a Death Angel, her meanings are a little bit different than you can imagine: safe delivery, protection and even healing. Santa Muerte is venerated both in Mexico and United States. She is also refered as the “Skinny Lady“. Santa Muerte is also related with the Aztec culture.
  • Female version of Grim Reaper: some cultures consider her the female version of the Grim Reaper. Like a Grim Reaper, she carries a globe and a scythe. Just like a Grim Reaper, many people around the world (Mexicans, but also those from United States) have this type of tattoo on their body.
