Grim Reaper Tattoo Designs

Grim Reaper Tattoo meaning – the main meanings of the Grim Reaper tattoos are: death (like a Medusa), life (like a Phoenix), lack of fear (like a bull), good luck (even if some people believe it’s not – like a dragon), darkness (because Grim Reaper is the Angel of Dark and Light - like the moon) and much more. All in all the Grim Reaper tattoo is a bit morbid. But, most important – if this tattoo means something for everyone else, it doesn’t mean it should mean the same thing for you. Grim Reaper story/symbolism - from the 15′th century towards our times, Death (also called Grim Reaper) is represented as a skeletal creature with a black cloak. In other countries (such as Scandinavia), the Grim Reaper or the Death doesn’t have a black cloak, rather a black robe. He also carries a scythe, something he uses to take your soul.

Grim Reaper is not the only one with a scythe. The Greek God Cronus (Zeus and Poseidon are among his children), also had a scythe for his own personal use. In the Bible Grim Reaper/Death is also related to Abaddon (an angel of distruction).

In catholicism,  the angel of death is not called Grim Reaper, rather Michael. There are other cool/amazing tattoos that also symbolize death, such as: medusa tattoos, skull tattoos and maybe scorpion tattoos too.

The Grim Reaper tattoos are also used mostly by marine and military. For military this tattoo can also mean that the death comes in all forms, yet can come anytime. One other meaning is that you can’t see death, but it will come eventually. Want some more pictures?
