Elephant Tattoo Meaning – Cool Ideas

Elephant Tattoo meaning – altough for some people an elephant means strength (like a barbed wire) (and power – like the sun), for other people it’s just cute (like an orchid)/pretty (like a dragon). Also, the elephant means: good luck, longevity (they live around 60 years – more or less, like a turtle), peace (like an anchor) & love (like hibiscus) (one of the reason it means peace is because they coexist with other animals, such as herbivores). It also has the maternal meaning (this tattoo is good for mothers, mostly because some of them believe this is somehow related to how good a mother is). It also means devotion (like a wolf) (for your relationship). Don’t forget that in some religions the elephants are sacred. Here are some pictures (who knows), maybe for your next tattoo:

Elephant Tattoo Symbolism – don’t forget about the fact that an elephant never forgets. So, some people get it because people in their lifes died, yet they want to never forget that person and get a tattoo instead. It’s also related to memory (it seems that elephants have a big memory). In the Hindu traditions/cultures, the elephants were sacred. For example – Airavata was an white elephant (mythological one), who used to carry Indra, a Hindu god. This elephant was related/called “brother of the sun“. They were also sacred.

One other thing about elephants, is that they have been to war. In the years 300+ before Christ, Alexander the Great already knew/trainer his army to injure the elephants of the enemy used in war to make them panic and win the war.

In the Middle Ages, for some people the elephants were just fantesy, mostly because people weren’t used to animals/elephants. Nowadays we all see the elephants in zoos, at tv or on the internet, but back.. you understand.

Mbuti people believed that the death people souls get in the elephants, yet for them also the elephants were sacred. Do you want some more pictures with elephant tattoo sets for your new tattoo?
